Backup Manager's Data Centers are protected by fully redundant firewalls; however, in the extremely unlikely event that either a hacker or disgruntled employee should be successful in accessing our data centers, no legible information can be retrieved. Your data is kept encrypted at the data centers. Only the encryption key, unique to each subscriber, can unlock the encryption software.
Backup Manager mirrors your encrypted data on two individual and separated data centers. A fail-safe plan to protect your data is in effect 24 hours x 7 days a week.
VIRUSES
A virus will only work if it can attach or associate itself with a file or program. A virus will sit dormant until this file or program is opened. When Backup Manager encrypts your data, the virus is also encrypted; therefore, the virus is longer in a functioning format. Encrypted viruses cannot launch and affect any file program or hardware. If you suspect that your backup account is contaminated with a virus, run a virus scan prior to opening any restored data to fix the suspected file(s). Backup Manager recommends that you run a competent anti-virus program at all times.
